What skin types is My Hero suitable for?

 


My Hero is a daily moisturiser for sensitive, reactive, oily-but-dry, and barrier-stressed feeling skin. It is a cosmetic moisturiser, not a treatment for a skin condition.

Can I use My Hero if I have acne-prone skin?

 


It uses lipids (like squalane and jojoba) that sit close to skin’s own oils, so it does not leave a heavy film. It is not a treatment for acne — if you use prescribed products, speak to your GP or pharmacist first.

Does My Hero contain added perfume?

 


No. My Hero contains no added perfume or essential oils — one less thing for reactive-feeling skin to deal with.

 

 

 

4.

Can I use it with other actives like retinol or vitamin C?

 


Yes. Apply it last, after your serums, so skin feels cushioned and comfortable rather than tight.

 

 

 

5.

How do I patch test My Hero?

 


Apply a small amount of cream behind the ear. Wait 24 hours and check for signs of irritation like redness, burning, or stinging. If none occur, you’re likely good to go.

 

 

 

6.

Why does it tingle when I first apply it?

 


My Hero contains niacinamide, panthenol, sea buckthorn CO₂, hyaluronic acid, and cucumber and chamomile extracts, at levels we state on the pack.


A mild tingling can happen on first application, especially if your skin is not used to ingredients like niacinamide.


It is usually short-lived and settles quickly.


To avoid overstimulation, we recommend the following:

 

  • Always patch test before full-face use (e.g., behind the ear).

  • If tingling persists, use the cream once per day or every other day for the first 7–10 days.

  • Gradually increase to twice daily once your skin adjusts.

 


If discomfort worsens or doesn’t resolve, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist, especially if you have a diagnosed skin condition.

How often should I use it?

 


Twice daily, morning and night.

Use it as the last step after cleansing, and follow with SPF during the day.

Does My Hero contain animal-derived ingredients?


 

My Hero is made without animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals - including our raw materials.

Can I use this under makeup or sunscreen?

 


Yes! It layers well without pilling or greasiness. Let it absorb for 1–2 minutes before applying makeup or SPF.
